The conflict in southern Lebanon intensified after Hezbollah claimed responsibility for carrying out 20 separate attacks against Israeli forces on Monday.
According to statements released by the Lebanese armed group, the attacks targeted Israeli soldiers, military vehicles, and newly established military positions across several areas near the Lebanese border.
Hezbollah said its fighters launched rocket barrages, artillery shelling, and explosive drone attacks in towns including al-Bayyadah, Rishaf, Tayr Harfa, and areas near Naqoura.
The group also claimed to have struck Israeli military equipment, including a Merkava tank, engineering vehicles, bulldozers, and a military Hummer during the operations.
In one of the reported attacks, Hezbollah stated that Israeli personnel stationed inside a building in the town of Taybe were targeted through multiple drone strikes. The group claimed the attack caused casualties that required evacuation by military helicopters.
Additional strikes were reportedly carried out against Israeli troop concentrations near the Deir Siriane riverbed as well as command and artillery positions in Odaisseh and al-Bayyadah.
Hezbollah further claimed that it intercepted an Israeli drone over the Tyre region using a surface-to-air missile.
The latest escalation comes as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue rising amid ongoing violence across southern Lebanon and the wider Middle East region.
International observers have expressed concern that continued cross-border attacks could lead to a broader regional conflict if tensions continue increasing.
